FYJC Merit List 2018, FYJC Bifocal Merit List 2018
11th bifocal merit list released. The merit list for bifocal admissions for first year junior college (FYJC, Std XI) announced today on Thursday by the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) committee. Bifocal subjects help students for professional courses in technical fields after standard XII. After the first merit list is released, admissions will be open for selected students after which colleges will display their vacancies for two continuous days. Students, who have not been allotted any college, can fill up the preference form a second time following which a second merit list will be displayed on June 28.
Bifocal subjects are good for students who wish to make a career in both engineering or banking said, Sayyadshaha Parvin, professor at Moledina High school and Junior College. He also said, “If a science student takes up bifocal subject, he will have a good base in technology which help crack the entrance and commerce students also have an good chance if they are looking for immediate job opportunities".
Biofocal science stream subjects are electronics, computer science, scooter-motor cycle servicing, mechanical maintenance and others, for commerce stream are banking, marketing and others.
The bifocal subjects carry 200 marks and conventional subjects carry only 100 marks. 100 marks for practical and 100 marks for theory exam makes 200 marks for Biofocal. Thus, a science student needs to have physics, chemistry, mathematics, English and a bifocal subject in the FYJC.
“Previously, the admissions to bifocal subjects were done after the fyjc general admissions were completed. But from this year a zero round is initiated which is divided into two rounds for students to choose to get admitted in an allotted college or not. If the student doesn’t go for the allotted college, he will be considered for further admission process. Students who have taken general mathematics in their standard X will not be eligible to take admission in bifocal subjects”, said an official from the CAP committee.
Students if allotted, confirm the admissions for bifocal subjects will not be considered for further admission process. But the options of arts/commerce/science/HSVC for those students not confirming bifocal admissions will remain there and these students will be considered for further admission process. The reservations for bifocal subjects will be as per the arts/commerce/science faculties.
