FYJC Round 3 Starts, Application Changes allowed till 5pm today

MUMBAI: The FYJC centralized online admission process 2017-18 offers over 1.05 lakh seats for fyjc round three. The FYJC online admission portal mumbai.11thadmission.net will accept fresh applications and changes up to 5pm today. Around 98,000 students are yet to get admission in Std. 11th, around 37,000 students have not been allotted a seat in the fyjc first and second rounds of admissions.

BB Chavan, deputy director of education, Mumbai said, "These students might have selected colleges where cut-offs and their marks do not match. Such students now are left out of the system. Students, looking to get a seat in round three, must be careful while selecting colleges. Before selecting junior colleges, they must take a note of vacancies and cut-offs".

The education department has already put up a list of vacant seats in every college. Out of the total 2.92 lakh seats, about 1.05 lakh seats are still vacant. While the number of seats available are more than the vacancies, popular colleges might not have much to offer.

Vidyadhar Joshi, vice principal, VG Vaze College, Mulund said, "Few seats are vacant in the reserved categories but they will be moved to the open category only in the fourth and final round of fyjc online admission 2018. Therefore, don't expect any percentage drop in cut-offs in the third round. As most of our seats have been filled, our academic year will be started on August 4 itself."

Parents and students still complain about the fyjc online process 2017-18. Anil Lohar, a parent said, "The mumbai.11thadmission.net portal started working only at 1pm. In this way, students will get only one and a half day to make changes. The education department deactivates the link at 5pm but doesn't start it on time."
