FYJC e-admission process 2017-18 to start soon

MUMBAI: The Maharashtra education department has undertaken the work to revamp online admission process for First Year Junior College (FYJC) for which a new software agency has been called in for the task. FYJC online admission process was first started in 2009. As soon as the Maharashtra SSC Result 2017 are released, fyjc online admission process 2017 would begin.

As the previous years saw objections from parents and activists, the school education department had announced changes to the fyjc online admission process and fresh tenders were released to appoint an agency to handle the online system.

Since 2009, the fyjc admission portal was managed by Maharashtra Knowledge Corpora tion Limited (MKCL). Now as the tender process is complete and the new agency from Noida has taken charge. The responsibilities for the new agency appointed for fyjc online admission 2017 includes to develop a new portal from scratch , build database and forms. BB Chavan, deputy director of education, Mumbai, said "The first of the process, college registration has already started in phases".

It seems the online admission process for fyjc is likely to have a delayed start. Work is already under going, applications for students for fyjc admission 2017 would be opened only around the second week of May. More changes might be needed and expected to be announced soon. Last year the online fyjc admission process faced several glitches. The education department held over 10 rounds of online fyjc admissions, till the end of September.

Students would be able to select only one stream and can opt for a maximum of 10 colleges, instead of 50 in the city; students will no longer have the option of provisional admissions and admissions to higher secondary vocational course and quota seats--religious or linguistic minority, in-house and management-- all will be done online.

This is the first time since 2009 that the agency has changed for the online fyjc admission 2017.
