FYJC Online Admission 2016-2017, 2 Lakh Seats Available

FYJC Online admission: Over 2 lakh seats available

Maharashtra's deputy director of school education has announced a list of the 2.89 lakh seats which are available for admissions to first year junior colleges (FYJC) in the year 2016-17. The seats includes
in-house and minority quota seats. As the students are waiting for the fyjc online admission to start and this fyjc online admission process has been delayed since three weeks.
The main reason behind the delay in starting fyjc admission is because of doubts over the Maratha and Muslim quota in colleges.

BD Phadtare, deputy director of education, Mumbai informed “We have started handing over the user manuals (for the online process) to school principals, starting this week.
Students will be able to fill the first part of the application form by next week.”

The online form-filling for fyjc students started on April 24 and now its too late. For fyjc online admissions 2016-17, 2,88,932 seats are available, out of which 1,62,841 are under the online process.
The remaining 1,26,091 seats will be under the fyjc offline process for various quotas like in-house, management and minority. After the govt. had announced reservation for Marathas and Muslims, there was some confusion over the matter.

Mr. BD Phadtare said, “We couldn’t start work until a final decision on the quota was taken. If it was implemented this year, it would have meant changing our online system to make provisions for reservation of 16 per cent seats for Marathas.”
