FYJC Merit List Online Announced: Arts, Commerce Cut-offs Rise, Science Cut offs Drop

The first merit list of fyjc.org.in for admission in junior colleges saw an increase of 1-2% in cut-offs for the arts and commerce streams, but there is a dip in science cut-offs in most of the top junior colleges of fyjc.

In the previous years, science stream %ages were steady or a little increase but this time the cut offs of science stream got down by 2% in Mithibai College, Jai Hind College, KC College, Ruia College, Ruparel College and St Andrews college. Jyoti Thakur, vice principal of Jai Hind College said that "this is some worrying trend as it seems more students don't want to opt for science in fyjc colleges and instead opt for commerce stream after which the students can get jobs".

St Andrews College cut-off percentage is dropped to 86.4 from 92 last year. Marie Fernandez, principal of St Andrews College, said, "This is worrysome for all and we don't have our seats complete in our current batch of class XI".

The fyjc results or the fyjc first merit list was declared online yesterday on 2nd July 2014 and most of the students checked online on the official website of fyjc.org.in/mumbai and some students saw their merit list on their school's notice board.

There was some doubts in the mind of students as some while checking the fyjc merit list results 2014-15 online did find their name but when they could not find their name on the notice board of the college. This happened to Shreya Goyal, scoring 90 per cent in her SSC. She gave the first option to Jai Hind College and did not find her name on the notice board. Some students who got their names in the 2nd college they have filled in the option form.

The fyjc 2nd merit list 2014 will be released on 9th July and students whose names have not been listed in the first merit list or simply have got their names in the 2nd college option can see if there names are available on fyjc second merit list. So there is still hope for students for a better college.

About 1.76 lakh students got in the first merit list and they need to pay fees by the 5th of July to secure a seat before fyjc second merit list is announced.
