FYJC options deadline could be extended

Principals Association ask Maharashtra state board to extend FYJC options deadline

The Maharashtra Secondary and Higher Secondary School Principals' Association has asked Maharashtra's deputy director of education, to look for an extension of the deadline for first-year junior college (FYJC) aspirants to fill online option forms 2014.

Currently, the last date to fill fyjc form for online admission process is 25th June but association wants the date to be extended from June 25 to June 28. Prashant Redij, vice president of the Prinicipal's association said, "We now have only the online results. The hardcopy will reach us only on June 26. Taking note of the chaos about the SSC exams this time, there might be mistakes in results. So it will be better if we have a chance to make corrections before the option forms are given in."

If the deadline is extended to 28th June 2014, students whose results have been reserved will be benefitted. One of the students who secured 80% marks in the SS exams said that he has already given the marks but the result is not available in the fyjc online website, so that is why he can't submit the fyjc option form. The board's Mumbai division has said students will not suffer. Laxmikant Pande, chairperson of the Mumbai board said, "students don't need to panic and they will not suffer as they have already sent the 90% of results to Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation Ltd.(MKCL) and the rest of the results will be sent ASAP".

As FYJC.org.in mumbai first merit list 2014 is coming on 2nd July, 2014, some city colleges have released their first merit list under the minority quota. There was a dip in cut-offs by almost 4-5% as compared to previous year of Jai Hind College, Churchgate, saw a dip in cut-offs.
